QUESTION: My question is did I get the right control with my unit? Directions says to set thermostat to 180 degrees to melt the wax, but the control on mime starts at 200. How can it be regulated to 180 degrees?

ANSWER: The recommended temperature varies by wax brand so it is best to see their specifications.

Most of our dials start at Warm which is a low heat/simmer temperature. If it doesn’t display Warm, it would be immediately when the light comes on but before 200.

However, most folks do not start this low. I typically turn it up much higher to speed up the melting process, then reduce it or turn it completely off once there is a pool of melted wax. The wax won’t get above 180 degrees until all the wax is melted. A thermometer can be used to check the temperature of the melted wax also.
